In this compilation, the concept of avant-garde is not understood in a restricted historical sense, but is conceived from an integral perspective, considering transgressive styles until the II World War. The volume therefore includes various studies on the phenomenon of avant-garde, specifically on the movements of modernity in Vienna and Berlin, Expressionism and New Objectivity. Similarly, the work has a special impact on avant-garde texts written by women.
